Jury Citation

“A poignant, eloquent, and heartfelt meditation on Medical Assistance in Dying that engages readers in the complex emotional and clinical decisions regarding end of life and what it means to have a ‘good death.’ The Last Doctor explores both the personal and legislative considerations that shape the last decision any one of us can ever make: how and when to die. Public policy around Canada’s MAiD program is still a work in progress, but this beautifully crafted and highly readable book offers insights into how far the country has come on this complex issue and where we might go next.”
