Michael
Kaan
Michael Kaan is an author and healthcare administrator. In 2018, his book The Water Beetles won the Amazon Canada First Novel Award, the McNally Robinson Book of the Year, and the Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction. It was also shortlisted for a Governor General’s Award for fiction and the Eileen McTavish Sykes Award for Best First Book. He has been named on the National Post’s best books list and on CBC Books’ list of writers to watch. Kaan works in mental health and health research and lives in Winnipeg.
