2011 RBC Bronwen Wallace Award for Emerging Writers

 Anne-MarieAnne-Marie Turza
The Quiet iii

Jury Citation

A confident and serene narrative voice evokes vibrant, imaginative and astonishing images which unreel like the frames of a silent film in this compelling and often poignant prose poem meditation on "The Quiet" — that hushed, still place underlying the narrator's human experience.

About the Author

Turza is 34 and lives in Victoria. She has an MFA from the Writing Department at the University of Victoria. Her poetry has appeared in several literary magazines including Arc Poetry Magazine and The Malahat Review, and the anthology The Best Canadian Poetry in English 2010.
